The rack of disks is connected to 2 servers that manage the disks: master and slave. In normal time, it's the master that delivers the NFS/CIFS service.
In case of problems on the master, the master hands over the disks immediately to the slave and starts delivering the NFS/CIFS service.
How it works?
If your VPS is down due to a server hardware failure, the IP will be transferred to the slave server and start it self as if nothing have has happened.
The NAS HA it self is on a cloud of servers and backed up.
Backup copies To ensure continuity of service and prevent data loss. We performs backups of the NAS HA it self on different machines and in a different data center.
Internal backups In the same datacenter Between 0 - 1 Hour
External backups In a different datacenter Within 24 hours.
OpenVZ (not NAS HA) containers will be stored on local hard disks in RAID10.
